As the years go on, social media continues to evolve and play an incredibly huge role in marketing and communications. Careers in this field are becoming increasingly competitive every single day, and they are directly specialized in social media. Building a strong personal brand online is the best way to stand out and advance your career.

Curate The Online Presence

If you take a look at all your public social media accounts, what do you think when you look at your online presence? 

Alix Earle is someone who has become a very prominent figure in social media, specifically TikTok, by building a strong personal brand. Earle rapidly established herself online, specifically with a Gen Z audience. One thing she did quickly when she built her online presence was she remain authentic from the get-go. By including moments from her life, whether that’s struggles or having fun, she created a genuine connection with her audience making her more relatable in comparison to other influencers.

Content Strategy

Everyone in the social media space needs a content strategy. This is what differentiates you from others on whatever platform. Alix Earle, uses a “before, during, after” approach. This method keeps her audience engaged.

  1.  References previous content at the start of a new videos.
  2.  Updating on current events
  3.  Preview what is going to happen next. 

This strategy encourages viewers to come back for an update, and builds a narrative on her journey. Having strategically crafted content is more likely to be shared. It not only increases your visibility across numerous platforms, but it can resonate with your viewers. Create content that resonates with your audience and provides value. This could be informative posts, entertaining videos, or inspiring stories related to your field of expertise.

Brand Partnerships

Brand partnerships and collaborations can be mutually beneficial.  This allows both parties to share their resources, including marketing efforts and creative assist. 

When Earle’s following grew, so did her influence to attract partnerships. She has partnered with major brands such as Benefit Cosmetics, L’Oréal, and Revolve. These collaborations not only enhance her credibility but also provide a huge marketing value for the brands involved. 

Engage with your audience

Consistently interact with your followers by responding to comments, messages, and creating content that encourages dialogue. This builds a sense of community around your brand and fosters loyalty among your audience

Building a personal brand on social media requires a strategic approach, consistency, and authenticity. By curating your online presence, developing a solid content strategy, creating shareable content, leveraging partnerships, and engaging with your audience, you can establish a strong personal brand that sets you apart in your field.

Remember, the key is to remain true to yourself while providing value to your audience. As you grow your personal brand, you’ll find more opportunities opening up in the ever-evolving world of social media and digital marketing.

    There is some very valuable information here you brought forward especially in the realm of tactics to build a brand on social media. The three tips of referencing prior content in videos, updating with current events and engaging with your audience are all fantastic ways to build a brand and the size of your social media channels. Brand partnerships are also great from not only the monetary rewards, but also leveraging the potential customer base of your partners to build your following as well.
