As someone who’s spent way too much time scrolling through TikTok, I’ve noticed that TikTok can be an awesome platform for wellness coaches. It’s short, fun, and honestly pretty addictive- making it perfect for getting important messages across. If you are currently a wellness coach or thinking about becoming one- here are some observations and tips to increase your reach and engagement.
1. Find Your Niche and Audience
TikTok is full of everything from dancing cats to people explaining quantum physics, so finding your niche is a big deal. Wellness coaches need to figure out what makes them stand out. Are you into mindfulness, fitness, or maybe plant-based nutrition? Once you know your thing, you can use hashtags like #WellnessCoach, #MensworkCoach, #CarnivoreDietician, or #MindfulLiving to help people find you.
Also, think about who you’re talking to. Is it busy students, parents, or working professionals? Tailor your content to their needs, like stress relief tips for students or quick workout hacks for parents.
2. Make Your Content Relatable and Useful
People love content they can use in real life. Share quick, actionable tips like a 30-second breathing exercise or a super easy smoothie recipe. Something like, “Hey, did you know taking three deep breaths can calm you down in under a minute?” feels doable and relatable.
And don’t be afraid to be real. Sharing your own struggles—like how you learned to manage stress—makes you seem more approachable. Honestly, seeing someone who’s relatable makes a huge difference.
3. Hop on Trends, But Stay True to Your Brand
TikTok trends are everywhere, and they’re a great way to get noticed. Whether it’s a trending sound or a specific video format, you can jump on board. For example, I’ve seen people use trending audio to share quick wellness tips, and it works. Just make sure it aligns with your vibe—you probably don’t want to do something random if you’re trying to promote mindfulness.
4. Use Storytelling to Keep People Hooked
People love a good story, and TikTok is perfect for visual storytelling. You could do a time-lapse of meal prep or show what a day in the life of a wellness coach looks like. Adding text overlays to highlight key points makes it easier for viewers to follow along. Even simple visuals, like showing how your morning stretches help you wake up, can be super engaging.
5. Interact With Your Followers
TikTok isn’t just about posting videos—it’s also about connecting with people. Responding to comments and creating videos based on questions from your audience makes things feel more interactive. For example, someone might ask, “How do I stay motivated to exercise?” and you can create a quick response video.
Collabs are also cool. Partnering with another creator, like someone who specializes in fitness while you focus on nutrition, can bring fresh content to both of your audiences.
6. Be Consistent Without Burning Out
From what I’ve learned, consistency is key on TikTok. Posting regularly—maybe three to five times a week—can help you stay on people’s feeds. That said, it’s also important to avoid burnout. Planning ahead and batching content could be a lifesaver.
7. Don’t Forget the Call-to-Actions (CTAs)
If you want people to do something, just ask! Add simple CTAs like, “Save this video for later” or “Follow for more tips.” It feels natural on TikTok, and it’s a great way to grow your audience.
8. Pay Attention to What Works
TikTok gives you analytics (if you have a Pro account), so you can see what’s working. If one type of video—like tutorials—gets way more views than others, maybe focus more on that. Being flexible and experimenting is part of the process.
Conclusion
TikTok is such a cool way for wellness coaches to connect with people. It’s clear that a mix of authenticity, creativity, and strategy can go a long way. If you’re a wellness coach, I’d say give TikTok a shot and see how it works for you. Who knows? Your tips could be the next thing someone’s For You Page needs!
