What did we do before social media was invented? Looking back, the only option for spreading awareness for your business was through traditional PR- television, physical prints, the radio, and newspapers. In the early 2000s, social media was introduced and has completely changed the lives of business owners. Social media has rapidly become a worthwhile asset for a business. It is now every business’s best friend, and here’s why
It creates Widespread Reach:
Social media platforms have billions of active users worldwide, making it an excellent tool for companies to reach a large and diverse audience. With a wide reach, social media platforms are powerful channels for driving traffic to a company’s website or other online assets. When businesses share compelling content, promotions, or links to their products or services, it can lead to increased profile visits. Widespread reach increases the chances of generating quality leads and potential customers for the business.
Social media is Cost Effective:
Creating a social media profile costs nothing to set up. There is also a lot of opportunity for users to repost your content, providing a greater reach for free! However, many social media platforms offer paid media that are flexible with pricing making it accessible to businesses of all sizes. Some commonly used paid media examples are boosting a post, advertisement videos, or pay-per-like advertisements. These have statistically shown to be the cheapest paid media options.
It helps build Brand Identity and Awareness:
Unsurprisingly, this is why social media is a business’s best friend. Social media provides companies a platform to build their brand identity, share their values, and engage with their audience more personally. By consistently sharing compelling content, companies can increase brand awareness and foster a loyal community of followers.
Lastly, you guessed it, Data and Analytics:
This has been the most common feature used for media platforms within the last year. Social media platforms provide robust analytics tools that enable companies to track and measure the performance of their campaigns. Companies can gather valuable data on audience demographics, engagement metrics, and conversions, helping them make data-driven decisions to optimize their strategies.
Although it seems like the perfect friendship, there are ups and downs, just like any friendship. With social media despite these advantages, it’s important to note that social media also poses challenges and risks. Companies must carefully manage their online presence, handle potential crises and ensure their social media activity aligns with their overall brand strategy and values.
