Even if your business’ goal isn’t to attract Gen Z, it’s a good idea for your brand to become one of the earliest users of TikTok marketing. 

TikTok started as a social media platform where young people could post short, silly, dancing videos to create entertainment for others.TikTok has been downloaded more than 130 million times in the United States and has reached 2 billion downloads worldwide. Many celebrities have since joined TikTok and it has taken over all social media apps. In January, 2019, TikTok started to allow creators to embed merchandise sale links into their videos. 

TikTok marketing can help your business grow by a lot. Brands and businesses can grow their relevance and make money through TikTok marketing by growing their presence with trending content, working with influencers to promote their products to new audiences, and advertising on the platform. 

To grow your brand’s presence on TikTok, the key is to create interesting and fun TikTok marketing content. It’s important to understand TikTok’s audience and the current trends that are going around the app. Using current trends to reach a new audience with your brand’s products can work as people will see your business as “trendy,” and “interesting.” Make videos based on trending hashtags and the TikTok algorithm ensures that there is a chance users will discover your brand’s content. 

Your business should also be authentic and unique. You should showcase your brand’s authentic self. TikTok challenges are becoming extremely popular these days. So, if your business caters to doing these TikTok challenges, that’s a great way to reach millions of users because the hashtags associated with the trends are more likely to be discovered. Also, by branded hashtags that your business can create, your followers will be encouraged to use it to help reach a new audience.

  1. What are the statistics for people buying things off TikTok? I like some of the promotional content I see from creators, but others…. feels fake and almost repulsive. I think the advertisement should focus more on the script than the number of people who see it. It’s just my thoughts as I scroll through TikTok. There is undoubtedly uncharted territory on it.

  2. I thought this blog post was a very helpful look at how drastically brands can grow by using tik tok marketing. I do think it is difficult, however, because of the lack of authenticity at times. Branded content and collaborating with influencers is important but companies have to remember to keep things somewhat organic.
