Black Friday deals and the thrill of shopping after Thanksgiving has been a lost common interest over the last few years. Now, most young adults turn their attention to Cyber Monday — the holy Mecca for year-round deals. Although this time of year is great for bargain hunting, sifting through scams, bad deals, and rip-offs can take quite a bit of time, something nobody has this holiday season. Make your hard earned money worth your yearly Cyber Monday purchases with these simple steps.
Step One: Finding Your Niche
There are deals on almost every consumer-fueled website for Cyber Monday. Figuring out how to find the most bang for your buck can be frustrating and difficult if you don’t know what you are looking for. The first step of any shopping experience, but most importantly Cyber Monday, is to begin with a list of all the products you’re on the hunt for. Once you can narrow down your must-haves like a quilted scarf or a workout set for your New Years’ Resolution, you can begin to surf the internet for the best deals.
Step Two: Brand Sifting
Once you are able to narrow down to a few products or items, the real search begins. Finding good deals may seem like finding a needle in a haystack, especially because Cyber Monday and Black Friday used to be on a much larger scale in terms of discounts and deals, but brand sifting will get you to where you need to be to find the best prices. Once you have the first product in mind, say a pair of Doc Martens or Beats headphones, begin with a simple Google search. It will come up with the most generic, name brand websites like the brand’s website, Amazon, BestBuy, and others. These deals may seem common, but searching on pre-owned websites or storefronts such as Poshmark or eBay can assure a higher mark-down price, along with a site-wide discount.
Step Three: Securing the Bag
After deciphering between websites, storefronts, and other online shops, this is when user preference comes into play. It all depends what the shopper is willing to spend on. Comparing the product’s original pricing with discounts across multiple consumer platforms can allow you, as a consumer and buyer, to be smart about your Cyber Monday purchases without feeling buyer’s remorse.
Whether you are looking to just shop around, find the best deals, or buy something from your wish list, these few steps are the perfect way to spend smartly and make the most out of your purchases!

People liked to line up in front of stores on the day before Black Friday or even earlier. In recent years, with the development of the internet and logistics, people’s shopping preferences seem to have shifted from offline to online. In my opinion, I seem to prefer the experience of shopping in physical stores because I can get the items I like more quickly. Usually, I start keeping an eye on prices and sales locations two to three months before the discounts begin.

Olivia!
This article provides practical and actionable tips for navigating Cyber Monday sales wisely which I wish I would’ve read sooner because I, infact, did not do that! Your focus on finding your niche, is something I did a long time ago and therefore always know exactly what I want which turns out is a lot of things! It truly is a helpful guide for anyone wanting to make more intentional purchases and avoid buyer’s remorse I just unfortunately am too far gone to be saved.
Hey Olivia, I think brand sifting is really important. Once you know what product you are looking for it’s very helpful to narrow down which brands you are interested in and figuring out which one is the best deal. A very helpful tip!
Hi Olivia! As someone who loves finding great deals, I found your post helpful. I enjoy the atmosphere of shopping at the mall, but when I’m short on time, I turn to online shopping. One tool I use is the Honey extension on Google Chrome—it does a good job of tracking price drops across different storefronts and ensuring I get the best deal possible. Thanks for these tips!
