My Top 3 Favorite Influencers for the Soul

Written by: Elizabeth Salathe

In the past couple of years, influencer presence has taken off. It seemed just like yesterday I huddled around a clunky computer monitor with my childhood friend Cassie. We would spend hours watching YouTubers introduce new products and express how they felt about them. At the time, these individuals were posting about their lives, but little did they know that the influencer market was soon to come.

I am not the most prominent influencer watcher, but I have discovered some I do like. The idea of influencers has changed and evolved with technology. Now everyone and anyone can be one on any platform. With that said, I would like to introduce my go to online figures and hopefully bring inspiration to your life.

Lana Blakely

I stumbled across this gem on Youtube one day while struggling with anxiety related to my last romantic relationship and COVID-19. Blakey has 605K subscribers on Youtube and uses her platform to educate her followers about life and ways to overcome difficult circumstances. She joined Youtube on Dec. 18, 2010. For eleven years, this Sweden goddess has shared so much about her personal life to counsel and calm those in similar situations. She has a peaceful presence and has helped me tremendously. Blakey has encouraged me to start journaling and focus on my mental and spiritual health. If you like to learn about productive daily habitsoverthinking, or how to stop comparing yourself to others, give her channel a try! You won’t regret it, promise.

Stephanie Lyn Coaching

Reaching 381K subscribers, Lyn is a life and relationship coach icon. Joining Youtube on May 26, 2017, she brings awareness of destructive and unhealthy behaviors, gives out powerful advice, and talks about improving relationships in her videos. Here are a few examples, The People who will ALWAYS Attract a Narcissist! or Mistakes People Make When Getting Over Someone. I was grateful to have found her video after my first heartbreak and haven’t stopped watching her ever since. Her ultimate goal is to help viewers identify ways to avoid unnecessary emotional weight in their lives. If you are in the middle of a breakup or emotionally abusive relationship, I would highly recommend subscribing to her channel.

Dr. Julia Smith

This talented Psychologist has a following of 349K on Instagram and posts at least once a day with stories. Smith is a Mental Health specialist who has reached all platforms. I originally discovered her on Instagram, but she also has posts on Tik Tok and Youtube. Her content is short and to the point, leaving viewers informed and not bored by the length. While I am on my phone scrolling through IG, Smith pops up with the perfect piece of advice for me today. She is so friendly and gives off welcoming vibes. If you need motivational reminders and inspiring ideas, Dr. Smith could be everything you didn’t know you needed.

I hope you found at least one of these influencers interesting, and went ahead and subscribed! Comment below to share your favorite influencers!

  1. I love this!! I am not an avid influencer follower, so I appreciate your post!! I am excited to dive deeper into these influencers as well. I find it overwhelming to find influencers because there are so many so I love this guide. I am super interested in the subjects of these three influencers specifically. So thank you again!

  2. Hi Elizabeth! I really enjoyed reading your blog. I follow many influencers so it was an interesting read. I’ve seen Dr. Julie Smith’s post before so I love that you included her in your post. There are so many different types of influencers but the three you mentioned all seem to be supportive and positive to their audience and I really like that. Thank you so much for your great post!

  3. Hi Elizabeth! Thank you so much for sharing. I have several YouTubers I watch, but these are all new to me. I especially LOVED Lana Blakely’s words. Her video was so calming and poetic. I try to write when I get the chance, and seeing how she pieces her words together with visuals she captures throughout her days was just beautiful. It inspires me to get back into it just for myself and to remember to slow down every once in a while. Thanks again.

  4. Hi Elizabeth! This information in your post is awesome and can potentially really help out a lot of people in similar situations. Similar to you I grew up with YouTube and watching different beauty gurus and lifestyle vloggers was a hobby for my friends and I. I still watch a lot of YouTube, so everything you’ve mentioned definitely resonates with me. Although there are a decent amount of negative aspects to social media, this is a great reminder that there’s so many incredible resources and knowledge out there nowadays all over the internet, so I think we’re really lucky to have such easy access to all of it. Thank you so much for sharing, and I will definitely be checking out these influencers!

  5. Hi Elizabeth! This is such a cool post, thank you so much for sharing! It’s so easy to get caught up in the toxic world of social media and find yourself keeping up with people that create unrealistic standards for yourself/your life. It’s so amazing to be able to find influencers who do the opposite and have genuine intentions to influence their followers to better themselves, rather than just show off their own “perfect” lives.

  6. Hi Elizabeth,
I really enjoyed this post. I am always on the hunt for new influencers to watch and take advice from. I think this was a great post to remind everyone that there are benefits of social media and these influencers have such a huge impact on peoples lives.

  7. Hi! I love that you shared some influencers that make videos about mental health. So often I find that most videos on YouTube are not about improving your mental state or well-being. This needs to be encouraged because our generation are the ones that struggle with this concept the most. I will definitely check your recommendations out!
